The Wattlecamp Rural Fire District is bounded by Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Rd to the south, Wattlecamp Rd. to the east, Memerambie-Barkers Creek Rd. to the north and Mount Hope Rd. to the west.
The district is sixty eight square kilometers in area. The country ranges from steep rocky hills, to open flat land.
Some of the blocks have been cleared or semi cleared creating large areas of open grassland. These grassed areas can be an effective fire break if they are maintained.
WRFB carries out hazard reduction by controlled burns in the cooler months. These burns lessen the fuel loading and give brigade members experience.
They also help brigade members become familiar with the fire district, learning prevailing winds, location of water sources and other valuable information.
